Persepolis was the only city on Earth where, for 2,500 years, civilisation gathered in peace and harmony to celebrate unity on the first day of spring.
Roozbeh Golpa, Chris Barwise, Simon Mooney, Will Murray and Leon Joullie form a five-piece ensemble named after this illustrious city. With a fusion of ambient sounds, alternative rock, and classic songwriting techniques, they deliver a sound as distinctive and majestic as Persepolis itself. Roozbeh, nephew of the late, internationally acclaimed singer Akbar Golpa (known as the Sultan of Iranian Vocals and often referred to as the Sinatra of Iran), leads with his powerful vocals. Chris Barwise enriches the soundscape with his keys and synths, Will Murray adds depth with his resonant bass lines, Simon Mooney brings a nostalgic touch with his Keith Moon-inspired drumming, and Leon Joullie energises the mix with his optimistic and eccentric electric guitar.
