These daring new works feature a choreographic blend of Ballroom, Latin and Contemporary dance, performed to bold alternative music.
‘Salome’ is a solo following the narrative of Oscar Wilde’s play. It tells a dark tale of a princess who desires to kiss a captive preacher’s mouth so fiercely after hearing his beautiful words that she demands his severed head. Emboldened by her love, Salome manipulates the men who objectify and underestimate her to ensure she receives what she longs for.
‘Portraits of Perversity’ guides you through the portfolio of beloved Brightonian artist Aubrey Beardsley. Bringing to life his fantastical characters and black and white scenes, this piece is filled with Beardsley’s twisted humour, elegance, and the hedonism of the Victorian Decadent art movement. Previous audience members wrote:
‘Beautiful choreography, entrancing. I could have watched it all night, absolutely beautiful’
‘Super, elegant, feisty, polished, brilliance’
'Powerful!'
