Elise Fabris isn’t a name you know... yet. But in her tell-all cabaret, A Girl You Should
Know, she’s setting out to change this. Elise has dreamt of performing in musicals
since she was a little girl in Australia. Then life got in the way. Or perhaps she got in her own way.
Punctuated by her favourite showtunes, she revisits her school days as the teacher’s pet in Sydney, falling in love with a mind reader, unexpectedly falling pregnant just as her career might have begun and facing her fear of being a high achiever who never achieves anything.
Accompanied by the wonderful Wyn Hyland on the piano, Elise presents her story.
It’s about grief and auditioning and breastfeeding. It’s about losing yourself just a little bit and singing your way back to who you’ve always wanted to be.
