RIRA the award winning Iranian theatre company are bringing their new show "RECUR" a very important piece of work to the UK.
RECUR (meaning repeating) is centred around their lived experiences as women living in Iran . They say "In this piece, we want to be the silent voice of half a century of women and girls who have suffered self-censorship due to social pressure, but in recent days, girls raised by destroyed women have risen up and shouted for their right to freedom, unfortunately, in some countries, women are oppressed by patriarchal society, they are not allowed to sing and they are not allowed to dance They are imprisoned, whipped and raped, because they just want to be free".
The show will be hosted in collaboration with The Rose Hill and Other Asias, featuring another musical performance TBA and a couple of Iranian short films TBA.
Nothing on YouTube due to restrictions but we will share video content on SM channels.
